About Us

The residents of Ambler founded Community Ambulance Association of Ambler in 1941 to provide emergency treatment and transportation to the sick and injured members of the community. At this time, many who responded on the ambulance were volunteers. Over the years, training standards and certification requirements increased so that the majority of Paramedics and EMT’s are career (paid) professionals. CAAA continues to welcome volunteers and students to join the crews.

The first location of CAAA was on Butler Pike, and in 1962 the association moved to their second location at 150 North Main Street, currently the Mattie Dixon Community Cupboard. In 2003, CAAA moved to the current location at 1414 E Butler Pike, next to Temple Ambler campus. This location provides private crew bunk rooms, ambulance bays for 5 vehicles and training rooms. Easy access to 309 and major roadways was also enhanced with this location. These training rooms are used for CPR and First Aid training, crew continuing education, and community use, such as American Red Cross blood drives.

In 2018 CAAA responded to a Request for Proposal from Springfield Township to provide EMS services to the township. On April 28, 2018 CAAA added Springfield Township to the primary dispatch coverage and continue to respond  with crews and vehicles added to maintain high quality care to the community.
